Monsters, Inc. Attraction to Operate Until 2027 at Disneyland
Disney announced this past week that Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! In Disney California Adventure will continue to be available to guests until 2027.
Disney's Magic of Animation Experience at Hollywood Studios Unveiled
Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California, is where the magic of animation begins, turning ideas into beloved characters and films. Soon, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a new experience called “The Magic of Disney Animation” will bring that magic to life for families.
This experience will be set in a building inspired by the Roy E. Disney Animation Building and will include a whimsical indoor playground called “Drawn to Wonderland,” featuring elements from the classic Alice in Wonderland concept art. It’s a playful spot designed for little ones to explore and enjoy.
Beyond the playground, families can meet many Disney Animation characters throughout the space. The courtyard will be transformed into “The Walt Disney Studios,” reflecting the look and feel of the real Disney Studios in Burbank. Here you’ll find the Studio Theater with “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” and a new Disney Jr. show, along with spots to relax and enjoy snacks outdoors.
One of the highlights is “Off the Page!,” where guests can meet characters linked to different stages of animation, like Mulan in Story, Rapunzel in Layout, and Donald and Daisy in CG Animation. Each area showcases a step of the animation process, making this a unique, hands-on celebration of Disney’s animation legacy.
There will also be a new Animation Academy called Olaf Draws!, where Olaf, brought to life as an Audio Animatronic figure, leads guests through drawing classes inspired by Disney characters. Real Disney animators provide guidance through prerecorded videos, teaching guests how to draw favorites like Mickey, Minnie, Genie, Moana, and more. Each class features a different character, encouraging visitors to return again and again.
“The Magic of Disney Animation” includes an art gallery with classic Disney artwork that comes alive with special animations. Guests can also watch the Emmy Award winning short film Once Upon A Studio in a dedicated theater enhanced with magical effects, where characters appear in the surrounding artwork, creating an immersive storytelling experience.
Overall, this new offering at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is a rich blend of play, creativity, and nostalgia that invites guests of all ages to step inside the world of Disney animation and discover the magic behind the scenes.
