Disney Cruise Line Announces Policy Updates Starting June 3
Disney Cruise Line is rolling out three fleetwide policy updates beginning June 3, covering alcohol, selfie sticks and tripods, and stateroom decorations.
Guests ages 21 and older may now bring either one unopened 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne, or six beers up to 12 oz each, at embarkation. All alcohol must be packed in carryon luggage, and the dining room's corkage fee has dropped to $20 per bottle. Wine and beer purchased in port will still be held until the end of the voyage.
Selfie sticks, handheld extension poles, and tripods are now permitted onboard in most areas if folded and under 18 inches. Longer items must be stored in the stateroom and used only ashore.
For stateroom decorations, Disney is reminding guests that decorations may only be placed on stateroom doors, not on hallway walls or ceilings.
Rollout Schedule
June 3: Disney Fantasy
June 4: Disney Adventure and Disney Magic
June 5: Disney Wish
June 6: Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny
June 8: Disney Dream and Disney Wonder
Bluey’s Wild World at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Adds Standby Access Starting June 2
Beginning June 2, guests visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be able to experience Bluey’s Wild World at Conservation Station, Jumping Junction, and the Animal Care experiences through a standby queue.
To enjoy these offerings, guests will need to board the Wildlife Express Train at Harambe Train Station and travel to Conservation Station. This gives families another way to join in the fun and experience the activities without needing a separate reservation process.
This update should make it easier for guests to enjoy these popular experiences while exploring the park. For families planning a Disney’s Animal Kingdom visit, it is a helpful new option to keep in mind when mapping out the day.
Disney Announces Major Refresh for Carousel of Progress
Disney has announced a major update to Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, with changes designed to honor the attraction’s history while bringing it into a new era. The classic Tomorrowland show will be temporarily unavailable beginning July 6, 2026, and is expected to reopen in 2027.
The update will include the long-awaited addition of Walt Disney himself as an Audio Animatronics figure, appearing in a scene inspired by the 1964 special Disneyland Goes to the World’s Fair. Disney says the new opening moment will help set the stage for the next chapter of the attraction.
All four scenes will also be updated to new time periods. The first act will move to the 1960s and feature the family watching the 1969 moon landing. The second act will shift to Halloween night in 1985. The third act will take place on New Year’s Eve in 1999 as the family approaches the new millennium. The finale will jump to a possible future set in an off planet home with futuristic technology and a helpful robot.
Disney also revealed a new attraction poster inspired by the original Magic Kingdom artwork, reinforcing the balance between nostalgia and forward looking storytelling.
Carousel of Progress opened at the 1964 to 1965 New York World’s Fair and later moved to Disneyland before arriving at Walt Disney World in 1975. It has remained one of Disney’s most enduring attractions, celebrating innovation, family, and the promise of progress.
